Overview
The RIAI competition winning design by ZAP Architecture of verticals is visually distinctive, and symbolises the students, staff and graduates that constitute the University.
The project elements undertaken included deep excavation groundworks, electrical, lighting, landscaping and paving. Specifically, works involved the installation of 54 large posts, installation of plinth and concrete formed “DCU” lettering, the extension of the pedestrian area adding a new paved finish, hard and soft landscaping, installation of bespoke concrete lettering, installation of a vertical bespoke Ogham lighting feature and all associated works to new and existing services.
The “DCU Lettering” won the “Elemental Category Award” at the 32nd Irish Concrete Awards.
