What’s the opportunity?

We are currently looking for an ambitious, self-motivated individual to join McKeon Group & Hereworks as a Junior Procurement Officer.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in our operations team, supporting procurement, accounts, ESG, and fleet and tool management. You’ll report directly to the Procurement Manager and work closely with both internal colleagues and external vendors, while managing documentation and procurement schedules.

What will you be doing? (Responsibilities)

  • Procurement: Prepare and issue purchase orders using our procurement software. Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely handling of enquiries.
  • Document Control: Support the accounts team by ensuring supplier delivery documentation is processed promptly via our procurement system.
  • Quotations & Tenders: Issue enquiries to suppliers for materials, plant hire, tools and vehicles. Review quotes and prepare analysis for the Procurement Manager.
  • Fleet Administrator: Act as the main point of contact for managing the company fleet.
  • Hilti OnTrack Administrator: Oversee the management of plant and tools using Hilti OnTrack software.
  • ESG Support: Support the Procurement Manager with the rollout of our ESG initiatives over the next 12–24 months. Assist with implementing software used to measure and report the Group’s carbon footprint.

What do you need?

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role.
  • Previous experience in a Procurement role is highly advantageous, although experience does not need to be within the Construction or Technology sectors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Construction and/or Technology, products and services is highly advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team and liaise effectively with various departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, proactive, with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.

Practicalities

Salary: DOE
Location: Head Office (Ashbourne), client sites as required. A Hybrid working option is available after probation.
