What’s the Opportunity?

We have a number of exciting projects commencing in Leinster and are seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

Level:

Reporting to Commercial Director

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Commercial responsibility for a project from start to finish
  • Subcontract purchasing
  • All quantity surveying duties, including measurements, valuation and agreement of work sections
  • Correspondence with clients/clients’ representatives
  • Preparation of accurate forecasts/cost value reconciliation of project costs to completion and final value
  • Prepare change orders and variation logs on the project together with weekly reports on job progress
  • Prepare monthly interim valuations with Senior QS
  • Subcontractor re-measurement, interim and final account payments
  • Ongoing job cost monitoring and reporting with the Financial Manager / Contracts Manager / Foremen
  • Ensuring that purchase orders for materials, labour, and subcontractors are placed as agreed for upcoming projects
  • Compiling variation logs and signing off on variations with the Contracts Manager
  • Final account preparation
  • Responsibility for a number of projects at one time
  • Cashflow forecasting for projects
  • Expand/develop pricing database within Pricing software
  • Estimating and tendering for projects where required
  • Develop new client relationships and maintain existing client relationships
  • Attend site meetings as required
  • General administration duties
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Experience / Qualifications Required

  • Bsc. in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
  • Minimum of 5 years Quantity Surveying Experience, with at least 3 of those in Main Contracting
  • Strong IT Skills in MS Excel, Project, Word and Pricing packages
  • Experience working with Project Management Software
  • Proven track record in Commercial / Industrial Projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Deadline-focused, results-driven with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Should be ambitious, honest, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and hard-working
  • Should have the ability to work well in a team based environment
  • Analytical thinker with demonstrated problem solving skills

Salary:

DOE – Starting from €65,000 per annum

Location

Site and office based with potential for some remote work where possible
