Broadcast Studios, Office Fit Outs and Facilities Upgrades
Project Team
Overview
Our commitment to delivering high-quality, functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces has led to the undertaking of a series of successful projects for an Irish broadcaster. From advanced broadcast studios to modernised office environments and sophisticated VIP reception areas, these projects showcase our versatility and dedication to excellence.
This project page highlights a few of these works.
Broadcast Studios and Recording Booths
One of our first endeavours with this client was a comprehensive project involving the construction of two state-of-the-art live broadcast studios within the existing live workspaces of the client's radio station. Our team designed these studios with bespoke acoustics to achieve a high acoustic rating, which is essential for live broadcast studios. Built adjacent to the client's newsroom, the studios required detailed planning and execution to avoid disrupting ongoing work.
Our work included constructing acoustic partitions, soundproofing, fireproof sealing, and installing acoustic doors and windows. Additionally, we created several smaller video editing booths to complement the main broadcast studio spaces. These booths provide essential support for quick edits and pre-broadcast preparations, enhancing the overall efficiency of the broadcasting process. This project highlights our ability to deliver high-quality broadcast and editing facilities in dynamic, live environments.
Office Fit Outs
Our team has undertaken two office fit out projects for this client. The first fit out involved transforming the first floor of one of the client's buildings. We completely stripped the space back, removed outdated furniture and carpets, and installed 2,200m² of new carpet. This large-scale flooring overhaul required careful planning to ensure minimal disruption to adjacent areas and to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
We integrated a variety of sit-stand desks, 150 screens, and cable management slinkies. The office was further accessorised with 150 chairs, 20 large storage units, 40 small storage units, and various breakout chairs, tables, and sofas. These additions were carefully selected to foster a productive work atmosphere and accommodate different working styles and preferences.
Environmental considerations were at the forefront of the team's work, and waste materials were carefully segregated and recycled to ensure compliance with the broadcaster's sustainability goals.
Following the success of the first-floor fit out, a similar approach was adopted for an open-plan fit out project. This project required a quick turnaround—two weeks from start to finish.
The open-plan office fit out involved the installation of 1600mm x 800mm desks, both Electrical Sit/Stand and Mechanical Sit/Stand. We also laid 300m² of new carpet in the space, which improved the aesthetics and enhanced the workspace's acoustics and comfort. Bespoke graphics and decorations were incorporated into the space to reflect the client's dynamic and creative spirit.
The project was completed within the swift two-week timeframe, minimising disruption and quickly returning the space to operational use.
Audience Reception Room Refurbishment
The Audience Reception Room refurbishment project focused on refreshing the primary guest and VIP reception area for news and entertainment shows. This refurbishment aimed to create a comfortable and stylish environment for the broadcaster's high-profile guests. This room, often called the green room, is critical to the guest experience.
This project involved a complete strip-out of the existing green room, installing new ceiling and wall finishes, floor coverings, and bespoke furniture. Modern AV installations were also incorporated to enhance the room's functionality. We successfully transformed the existing green room into a premier guest and audience reception area by ensuring the space meets new regulations and provides a welcoming atmosphere.
Toilet Facilities Upgrades
Another portion of our work was the toilet facilities upgrade project. It involved refreshing three toilet blocks and converting a serviced storeroom into an accessible toilet. The project was carried out in phases, ensuring that at least two blocks of toilets remained available to minimise disruption.
Each toilet block was stripped back, and new ceilings, flooring, and wall tiles were installed. We upgraded the plumbing systems and installed new sanitary fixtures, cubicles, and LED mirrors. Bespoke units were incorporated to meet the broadcaster's specific requirements.
The conversion of the storeroom into an accessible toilet was particularly significant, as it ensured compliance with the latest regulations and improved accessibility within the building. By stripping the existing facilities back and completely refurbishing them, we created modern, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces that meet the highest standards.
Conclusion
These projects represent just a fraction of the work we have completed for the client. They demonstrate our capability in managing large-scale renovations and fit outs while maintaining operations in live environments and reflect the strong, ongoing relationship we maintain with this client. Our work continues as we strive to meet and exceed their expectations, ensuring their spaces are always at the forefront of functionality and design.
Through meticulous planning and execution, we remain dedicated to enhancing their facilities and ensuring they stay at the forefront of broadcast and office environments. Our ongoing projects and future collaborations promise even more advancements as we continue to support the broadcaster in achieving their operational and strategic goals.
